• To promote the welfare of human beings in the community: (the disabled, the elderly, hunger, poverty, health education, parenting education, crime/violence prevention etc).
• To deal with issues relating to the physical state of the community: (community centres, health facilities, infrastructure improvement, parks and recreational facilities, schools, etc).
• Look at threats to the environment: (beautification, energy resource protection/promotion, soil conservation etc.)
