Bayside Community Singing

Bayside Community Singing will be back in full swing on Sunday, 1 February from 2-4pm at Hampton Seniors Centre, 14 Service St, Hampton. Make a note in your diary now - we look forward to seeing you!
FORaMEAL Packing Day

Brighton Rotary has organised a FORaMEAL packing day on Friday 7 November at St Leonard's College, South Road, Brighton East, 10.30am to 3pm. Participants must have a current Working With Children Check. Lunch will be provided.
This is a fabulous, fun opportunity for those who would like to do some hands on volunteering helping and supervising the students to pack nutritious fortified meal kits that support disaster relief areas.
Email Jo at Brighton Rotary by the weekend (youth@brightonrotary.com.au) with your current WWC details and any dietary requirements if you would like to be involved.
The Good Life

Brighton Theatre Company is serving up laughs with The Good Life (based on the classic TV series we all know and love). Small Comforts from Community Care Bags

Members recently assisted in packing Small Comforts from Community Care Bags which are provided to inpatients at several Melbourne Hospitals. Approximately nine personal items are included in the care bags. Small Comforts from Community is a collaboration of Clubs within Rotary District 9800.
Committed to eradicating polio

Rotary International and the Gates Foundation recently renewed their commitment to eradicating polio and protecting children everywhere from this disease.

Classic, Exotic and Modern Car Show at RBYC

Volunteers Needed! We have been asked to help out at the Classic, Exotic & Modern Car Show at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club on Sunday 21st September, 10am-3pm.
Volunteer jobs (in approximately two hour shifts) will include welcoming, directing and counting visitors. The money raised will go to the Cancer Council via the "Bright Old Sparks" team doing the Shitbox Rally in October. The Rally is the largest community lead fundraiser for the Cancer Council in Australia and is now in its 15th year.
Please let Anne Cobham know if you are available to assist on the day.
Bayside Community Singing

The next Bayside Community Singing session will be held on Sunday 5 October at the Hampton Seniors Centre, 14 Service St, Hampton from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. We will be singing 60s, 70s and 80s songs...and we can dance too! Looking forward to a great afternoon - join us!

Please bring grocery items to donate to BayCISS to our meeting on Thursday 4 September for collection.
Also, if you have a lemon tree in abundance, bring along some lemons too!
Goods for drought-stricken farmers

The 15 pallets of goods Brighton North Rotary and Brighton Rotary members packed at Donations In Kind on Tuesday 22 July for drought-stricken farming families have arrived in Western Victoria.

The Highlands Foundation

We are supporting the Highlands Foundation which provides Mother and Baby Packs for distribution in Papua New Guinea. The Mother and Baby Pack Project has been instrumental in reducing infant pneumonia and other illnesses by improving hygiene and providing warmth.
The 39 Steps

Are you interested in seeing the play The 39 Steps? If you are, join us on Thursday, 2 October, 7:00pm at the Comedy Theatre, 240 Exhibition Street, Melbourne. Tickets are $70 per person (concession/seniors group booking rate) and are in the Dress Circle, Row E. Let Anne or Alison know by 25 August how many tickets you want. Attendees will be advised how to pay.
It looks like it will be fun, as it has been described: Mix Alfred Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller with a dash of Monty Python-style chaos, and you get THE 39 STEPS

'Bright ON Community Singing Club'

Bright On Community Singing Group gathered today to sing and dance and share afternoon tea and a lot of fun!
A vote was taken and we are to meet on the first Sunday of every month in future.
Bright ON Community Singing - Christmas Celebration!

Brighton North Rotary held the final Bright ON Community Singing for 2024 on Saturday 7December at St Stephens Church.
Beach clean up

Work with other Club members as we join with the Brighton Beach Patrol to remove rubbish from the beach area around the Royal Brighton Yacht Club and the Baths on Sunday 3rd August from 9-10am.

Bayspeak Round 3

The third round of Bayspeak was hosted by Firbank Grammar School last Wednesday, May 21st. The schools competing were Star of the Sea, Kilvington Grammar, Brighton Secondary College, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH) and Firbank Grammar. Lyn Mortimer was the MC, and Christina Rearick assisted with the adjudication.
Garden Design Fest 2026 - Volunteers Needed

Yes, it seems a long way away but planning has begun for the next GDF. Volunteers are needed NOW for a number of roles including Secretary, Securing gardens, Advertising and Sponsorship, Social Media, etc., etc. This great event has raised $780,000 since it first started.
