Rotary Safe Families

Rotary SAFE Families’ was established in 2018 to help stop all forms of family violence by addressing its underlying causes.  It has evolved into a national program with valuable resources and tools including short films, Manual, Toolkit, translated information to assist every Rotarian in every part of Australia to become informed playing their part in Stopping Abuse in Families Everywhere.  We promote that family abuse NOT be a "taboo" topic!

Sustainable food sources in Cambodian village

A project of Brighton North Rotary costing $16,500; supported by a District Foundation Grant and by the World of Difference Committee was to encourage village farmers in the village of Kok Tnoth to utilise their land between rice crops and plant fast-growing vegetables; with water pumped from water bores. The crops supplemented the food needs of the community with the excess sold at local markets providing income for the villagers to purchase seed, fertilizer, and other requirements for future crops.

Sarsfield Bushfire Recovery

When the 2019/20 bushfires tore through Sarsfield, it left 200 properties damaged and 80 homes completely destroyed. 

The Rotary Clubs of Brighton North and Glenferrie together with Rotary District 9820 and members of the East Gippsland Fire Aid Committee from Rotary Clubs in the Sarsfield vicinity stepped in to assist.
