The next meeting will be a joint meeting of Brighton North and Brighton Rotary.
We will have a very special guest speaker in Zoe Daniel MP, the Independent Member for Goldstein.
Zoe lives in Goldstein with her husband, two teenage kids and their dog, Tully. She was a
journalist and foreign correspondent for nearly 30 years, and covered natural disasters, conflict,
economics and politics, and all manner of world news.
In 2021, she was asked by the community independent movement in Goldstein to run as their
candidate. She was reluctant to go into politics, but her children convinced her that her frustration with politics as usual was the very reason she had to stand. Her choice to run for office was centred around the lack of action she could see on climate, integrity, equality and prosperity.
Zoe's topic will be
"The role of an independent in Parliament".

The Hampton RSL Menu will be the choice of 4 meals:
1. Grilled Chicken Breast on mash with a creamy mushroom sauce or
2. Battered Fish and Chips served with Lemon and Tartare or
3. Lamb Shank served on Mash or
4. Vegetarian - Moroccan Spiced Cous Cous Salad with Pita Bread
and Yoghurt.
