Classic, Exotic and Modern Car Show at RBYC

Volunteers Needed! We have been asked to help out at the Classic, Exotic & Modern Car Show at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club on Sunday 21st September, 10am-3pm.
Volunteer jobs (in approximately two hour shifts) will include welcoming, directing and counting visitors. The money raised will go to the Cancer Council via the "Bright Old Sparks" team doing the Shitbox Rally in October. The Rally is the largest community lead fundraiser for the Cancer Council in Australia and is now in its 15th year.
Please let Anne Cobham know if you are available to assist on the day.

The 39 Steps

Are you interested in seeing the play The 39 Steps? If you are, join us on Thursday, 2 October, 7:00pm at the Comedy Theatre, 240 Exhibition Street, Melbourne. Tickets are $70 per person (concession/seniors group booking rate) and are in the Dress Circle, Row E. Let Anne or Alison know by 25 August how many tickets you want. Attendees will be advised how to pay.
It looks like it will be fun, as it has been described: Mix Alfred Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller with a dash of Monty Python-style chaos, and you get THE 39 STEPS
The Highlands Foundation

We are supporting the Highlands Foundation which provides Mother and Baby Packs for distribution in Papua New Guinea. The Mother and Baby Pack Project has been instrumental in reducing infant pneumonia and other illnesses by improving hygiene and providing warmth.
Donations for BayCISS

BayCISS Donations, 1st Thursday of each month: Please bring grocery items to donate to BayCISS to our meeting on Thursday 7 August for collection. Also, if you have a warm coat(s) you no longer require, bring it along too as BayCISS would welcome the donation.
Bayside Community Information & Support Service Inc (BayCISS) is a registered not-for-profit community charity providing an extensive range of services for community members living in the Bayside and parts of Kingston.
Beach clean up

Work with other Club members as we join with the Brighton Beach Patrol to remove rubbish from the beach area around the Royal Brighton Yacht Club and the Baths on Sunday 3rd August from 9-10am.

CONTRIBUTIONS ARE STILL NEEDED FOR BayCISS!
The items they require are: Beauty products (eg small shampoo bottles, sunscreen, deodorant); Meals in a tin (eg 2 minute noodles, baked beans, soups)

Bright ON Community Singing Club welcomed 28 community friends to join with Bob to sing their favourite songs!
Sadly, this was our final session.
District Governor's Visit

District Governor Peter Shepheard attended a joint meeting of Brighton North Rotary and Brighton Rotary on Thursday at the Royal Brighton Yacht Club to update us on Rotary matters.
He advised the 2026 Multi District Impact Summit will be held from 27–29 March 2026 in Horsham, with the main plenary sessions taking place at the Horsham Town Hall. The Summit will be a collaboration of District 9800, District 9510 and District 9780.

Recognition and Celebration:Changeover Night 2025

On Thursday, June 26th, the office of President of Brighton North Rotary was passed from Peter Terrens to Anne Cobham. Forty-eight members and guests attended the Changeover Dinner, celebrating the conclusion of Peter's successful year and the commencement of Anne's 2025/2026 Rotary Year.
Assisting the Drought-Stricken Western District

Thank you and congratulations to our member Ian Marchment, who has responded generously to the RAWCS appeal for donations to assist drought-stricken farmers in the Western District of Victoria. Ian has made a personal donation of $2,800 to the appeal. The club has agreed to match Ian's donation, making a total donation of $5,600. For more informatrion about the appeal go to :

Francesco Arezzo, a member of the Rotary Club of Ragusa, Italy, has been selected by the Board of Directors to become Rotary International’s president for 2025-26. Arezzo will become President on 1 July.
