MUNA (Model United Nations Assembly) May24/25: we sponsored two students from Star of the Sea.
Bayspeak Final: this will be held on Tuesday June 3rd, at Firbank Grammar (Centennial Student Centre), entry via Gate 2, Outer Crescent, 6.30pm for 7.00pm start. All welcome.
Brighton Grammar Mock Interviews: Christina Rearick and Malcolm Baird took part in this programme, devloped to give students confidence with job interviews.

June is Rotary Fellowship Month

June is designated as “Rotary Fellowships Month” by the RI Board to recognize the importance of international fellowship and good will among Rotarians.
Celebrating Business and Professional Excellence

We recognised and celebrated business and professional achievement at our annual Business Awards night on May 29th. We welcomed the nominees for the Business of Distinction and Professional Vocations Awards, and special guests James Newbury MLA and Ruth Wall, a General Manager with Bendigo Community Bank, who presented the awards. We also welcomed Michael Stillwell, Past President RC Kew and a Community Group Leader in District 9800 for the current Regionalisation trial.
Celebrating 30 Years of Service Above Self: Virginia Turner

Virginia Turner was also recognised at our last meeting when we celebrated her thirty years of service with our club and her ongoing national role with RAWCS.

Volunteer for the 2025 Science & Engineering Challenge

A volunteering opportunity to engage with year 9 & 10 students in this nationwide STEM program as they compete in fun hands-on activities involving the principles of science, technology, engineering and maths.
Boroondara Antiques and Collectables Fair June 15th

On Sunday June 15th, the Rotary Club of Kew is holding an Antique and Collectables Fair. We would really appreciate it if the clubs in our Community would advertise this event to their members, and indeed to anyone else they think might be interested. David Freeman, the well known and respected valuer, and President Elect at Brighton Rotary, will do valuations, and we hope that his presence can be advertised widely.

Saturday 5th July is the date for the District 9800 Changeover - starring Peter Shepheard and Michael Lapiña.
Bayspeak Round 3

The third round of Bayspeak was hosted by Firbank Grammar School last Wednesday, May 21st. The schools competing were Star of the Sea, Kilvington Grammar, Brighton Secondary College, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH) and Firbank Grammar. Lyn Mortimer was the MC, and Christina Rearick assisted with the adjudication.
Garden Design Fest 2026 - Volunteers Needed

Yes, it seems a long way away but planning has begun for the next GDF. Volunteers are needed NOW for a number of roles including Secretary, Securing gardens, Advertising and Sponsorship, Social Media, etc., etc. This great event has raised $780,000 since it first started.
