Rotary Foundation - Every Rotarian Every year
November is Rotary Foundation month when we celebrate our charity, The Rotary Foundation, and the many projects it supports, including Polio eradication.
The Rotary Foundation enables Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty
The Foundation is Rotaries charitable arm; administered by Rotary International it allows members to tackle the biggest challenges locally, in Australia, and globally to assist community needs.
Those challenges fall into 6 main areas of focus:
- Promoting Peace-peace ambassadors etc
- Fighting Disease- Polio
Polio Eradication Update
Richard Potter has researched the lastest information on Polio Eradication. Please read his summary.Read More...
- Providing clean water & sanitation
- Saving mothers and children
- Supporting education
- Growing local communities
The Rotary Foundation promotes peace through peace Fellowships which develop leaders to become advocates for peace and conflict resolution. Applicants are supported and promoted by Rotary Clubs.
The Foundation grants support both local projects in Australia and global grants that finance International projects promoted by Rotarians. The projects must fall into one of the areas of focus and importantly they must conform to the reporting and governance rules of Rotary, as you would expect of a world renowned charity.
The Rotary Foundation has funded the Polio Eradication campaign that is now so close to success.
The Rotary Foundation is our charity, but without our support it can’t succeed, consider donating a minimum $100 pa and join the ‘Every Rotarian Every Year’ campaign - remember this is less than the cost of one coffee per week.
