Chair for the night Phil Rowell requested directors reports:

• Fellowship – there is a movie night on Friday 29^th November at the Dendy Palace complex, followed by dinner at the Dendy Deli.   The Christmas party will be held at Victoria Golf Club on Wednesday 18^th December.  We will be giving presents again to the Family Life kids – Gerry will have the list of names and ages by about the 1^st December.
• International – Richard Potter gave us an update on some polio news.  Virginia Turner then advised that members would be able to donate some personal items etc for a container of goods being assembled to be sent to the Philippines to help victims of the typhoon.  Chairman Phil also advised that District was recommending cash donations may be best, so that local Philippine Rotarians could organise what was really needed in their own country, with the side benefit of extra economic activity in the country.
• Youth – Alison advised that all was set to take our two candidates to the RYLA camp – members were asked to express interest in attending the dinner put on by the RC Albert Park on Thursday night (28th Nov), after which there will be a variety type show put on by the RYLArians – always a great night.
• Community – Roy called for volunteers for the Variety Club Christmas party – set-up on Wednesday 11^th December, the actual party on Thursday 12^th December at Jeff’s Shed.  Volunteers need to have a current Working with Children permit.
• Fundraising – Peter Killey advised we were making steady progress with eBay sales, and some members had sold stuff independently through Gumtree and donated the proceeds to the Club.
• Vocation – Christina advised we would have a representative from the school visit at some stage to express thanks to the Club and volunteer readers.
• Website – Mort advised the new site is up and gave us a demonstration of some of the features – the site is looking great.  Mort asked members to check it out and give him feedback (positive preferred!).
• Fact of the Week – Peter Terrens was caught short but recovered well to give us a brief overview of a program named ROVE, which features international vocational exchange.

The sergeants were then let loose to plunder and pillage the savings of the membership.  Some slightly soiled t-shirts were auctioned, and a joke about Neil Armstrong and his neighbour ended up costing the men dearly.  Sergeant John then conducted a very entertaining political history quiz, table by table, which we collectively flunked.  The session raised a creditable $94 and change.

The raffle raised $60, Chris Warner won $2 and the jackpot stands at $482.
