President Russell:- District are considering a name change for our cluster to 'Southside'.  Club members can email Russell with suggested alternatives.  One raised was 'Bayside'.

Bayside CC - met with Rotary representatives regarding the placement of health equipment along the foreshore.  The project will go to council in February14, with the possibility of 2 pilot stations being set up at the northern & southern end of the Bayside foreshore.

President Russell concluded the meeting with this quotation for Rumi:-

'do not look back, no one knows how the world ever began, do not fear the furture, nothing lasts forever, if you dwell on the past or the future, you will miss the moment.'

Fellowship - Phil Wheatley:-  RCBN Christmas party is Wed 18Dec at Voictoria Golf Club.  Members are welcome to bring guests.  The cost is $65/person. Please pay prior to the party to the RCBN account.  Please remember the gift for your nominated child.

Phil thanked Robin Simpson for arranging a successful fellowship movie night last Friday for 25 members and guests.

Community - Roy Bird:-Volunteers Required for Sunday Evening Meals for the Disadvantaged We have received a request from Albert Park Rotary to assist them in providing an evening meal each Sunday 4pm to 6.15pm.  The meals are for the homeless and socially isolated and are provided at St Silas, St Kilda.  To volunteer please ring Chris Catchlove from the Rotary Club of Albert Park on 0418557238.

Youth - Alison Abbott:- The RYLA camp was a great success, with both our candidates reporting having had a wonderful experience.  We will hear from them in the New Year.

Rotary Youth Sailing:- 23Jan-25Jan2014.  Our Club will host students from the country for 2 nights, members indicated if they were available to do so.  More information in the New year.

International - Sue Jones:- Nine volunteers attended the DIK store on Tuesday where clothing was sorted for distribution.  Our Clubs next session at the DIK store is 21Jan2014. Please see Sue if you are available.

Fundraising - Richard Potter:- Members have received information on our Q&A fundraiser to be held on Saturday 10May 2014 at Dendy Bowling Club.  Cost $60/person.  Please invite guests to join you, to make the evening a great success.

Foundation - Peter Killey:- There has been success with the eBay sales  with more donated items going on soon.

Membership:-  President Russell will  be inducting Mia Hall next week.

Marketing - Phil Mortimer:- Members are to respond to the message to confirm their emails, to enable Phil to ensure they are in the system and working.  All part of the function of our new Website.

Members Announcements:-

1. RC Brighton Beach are holding a film night at Palace Dendy on Friday 10Jan14.  The movie is 'Philomena', the cost $20/head.  All members and friends welcome.
2. Judy Carruthers has offered to members and friends a 'Getaway' week in Hong Kong in April 2014.  The proceeds are to go to a nominated charity in Australia.  For more information please see Judy.
