We began with a scenario: a Rotary dinner where one of the members, a retired criminal lawyer, dies from poisoning. Who killed him and why? We found a slightly disabled private detective, coincidentally named Phil Wheatley. As for suspects, they turned out to be numerous. The deceased Rotarian was a womaniser and his mistress, a waitress and even the waitress’s mother were all suspects. Sadly, the meeting ended before we could progress the story to a resolution but, who knows, maybe Jade Riley, the heroine of Andrea’s crime novels, will one day solve the mystery for us.
