1/14th Brighton Sea Scouts

Brighton North Rotary has a longstanding relationship with the Scout Movement, and in particular with our local Sea Scouts.

An annual donation of $1000 helps fund the membership fees for young scouts who would otherwise not be able to become scouts. Members are invited to BBQ nights, cooking contests, and twice a year Brighton North Rotary teams provide the barbecue for participants at the Sea Scouts water fun day at Karkarook Park in Moorabbin. This event is held in support of the families and friends of the KIDS Foundation and the Mirabel Foundation.

Each current Brighton North Rotary President is bestowed with an honorary membership to the 1/14th Brighton Sea Scouts.

1st/14th Brighton Sea Scouts    Cubs – Master Chef Challenge 07 September 2022.

Each year Brighton North Rotary are asked to assist judging at the Cub’s MasterChef Challenge.

In 2022 Lyn attended along with fellow judges James Newbury and Janet Cardell.

Four groups prepared the mains of lamb and vegetable kebabs, flat bread and tzatziki sauce, while the other groups made golden syrup dumplings and ice cream.  We marked on presentation and taste to select the overall winner.

The Cubs all had a great night, and it was a pleasure to see their excitement in taking on the challenge!
