St Kilda Mums

St Kilda Mums commenced in 2009 when a group of mums noticed that donated baby goods needed to be sorted, laundered and packaged for re-homing to families that might need them.

Their mission is to share the joy of motherhood in partnership with support agencies, by recycling baby essentials. Although starting in St Kilda, the warehouse is now in Clayton, and two other sites have opened in Geelong and Ballarat. 59,500 items were re-homed in 2018-9, 98% of which were donated, with a combined value of $7.4m.

Brighton North Rotary arranged a drive for donated children's clothes through St Stephens Church Op Shop, the 1st/14th Brighton Sea Scouts and our own members and friends in past years.

For many years, Brighton North Rotary knitters and friends have been busy knitting cot and basinet blankets for babies in need.  Do you love knitting?  Contact us if you would like to be part of the knitters brigade.
