Rotary Youth Programs
Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment
We sponsor young people aged 14 – 17 who are year 9, 10 and 11 students to participate in a weekend camp conducted by leaders who are also young people. The Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN) aims to broaden cultural, social, and academic horizons and to lift personal aspirations and self-confidence.
Rotary Youth Leadership Award
Each year we sponsor two young people aged 18 - 25 to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA), a week-long residential program to develop leadership, personal and social skills. The program is based on four key themes: Challenge by Choice, Diversity, Community and Time Out.
Road Safety Education - Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA)
Brighton North Rotary has been involved in the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) program for many years. It is a community road safety initiative to deliver practical road safety information targeting the “attitude and awareness” of young drivers and passengers.
The RYDA Program is for senior high school students (16-18 years old) and assembles in a coordinated presentation, community road safety experts to deliver sophisticated, integrated and powerful road safety education to young people at the beginning of their driving lives.
